One resource you might use more frequently when contacting your host, is your account executive. They will have a vested interest in the quality of the product you are receiving, put them to work on any discrepancies you detect.
Also, if your host has a formal reporting system for problems, use it. That way if there is a recurring problem it will show up in the history of your account.
Note, many hosts will track all the trouble-tickets you submit, so use the same Email address. This will keep all of your information together if the host needs to perform a database search for any and all previous occurrences to your account.
