um airdick, im sorry but you are wrong, the first ammendmend does not apply to obscentity and the definition of obscenity is dependant upon "community standards" (whatever the hell those are)

my point is that if we take the time to make our product a bit more palitable to the "community" then we are far less likely to have a problem. ask any lawyer that has had any experiance in this relm and they will tell you - put a story on every page of every site because then it will fall under the protection of the first ammendment.

why do folks put links to netnanny and the other filtering software if this is such a nonsensicle idea? those are traffic leaks too. is it because we know kids dont have credit cards? is that the only reason to do that? is there no moral obligation on us to protect children from our product?

i think its time for the industry to grow up a bit and start at least trying to look legitimate. Flippant remarks about the first ammendment and how the govt is pursicuting us isnt going to fix the problem.

look at it this way... when you tell someone what you do for a living the first thing many of them ask is "you dont do that kiddy porn stuff do you?" - i mean jesus, my own mother asked me that... what does that say about the way the public views our industry?

we have to change the public perception or we are going to be hit very hard in the very near future no matter who is in office and no matter how much we protest about the freedom of speech.
