The one problem with Linux is it doesn't run Adobe apps which for me was a deal breaker so I went with that other *nix OS from Apple.

KDE isnt an os it is just a desktop environment. KDE is the same stuff that apple uses basically and it is definitely my favorite desktop environment for unix os'
I have had Linux run adobe apps in the past I just had to use emulators I believe but I do remember running photoshop on linux, or maybe it was freebsd but it was definitely with an emulator of some sort.
At least from my experience with my little iMac here, Max OSx is nothing but a tweaked version of FreeBSD with KDE running. Of course it runs a lot smoother than a standard FreeBSD install.
