charging for SEO?

I asked this question on a SE webmaster page and the pros told me not to charge anything.

I should have come here first seeing as how this is where I'm accepted for selling smut |afro|

Let me get to my question. I am still very new to the online marketing. I did TGP's last year, I made some change that was enough to kept my interest.

This year I have been learning about SEO and I find it a lot easier and more enjoyable even though is 10x more work.

My first site that I tested did better than expected and I am able to understand more on G, Y! when I read articles and watch my rusults.

Now I have been giving away advice not thinking that I was giving away advice. Recently I was asked to help someone with their site, great! But I have no idea how much to charge this person or even where to come up with a forumula so I am able to charge him.

The guy has been very helpful to me, has a lot of contacts and is just a very good guy overall.

Should be easy right? Nope. I work a 8 hour job and I have school so time is not a valuable asset at all.

Now I can A) Work for him, have the chance do even more work for other people but not controlling my own traffic
or
B) Do the same amount of work for myself, wait for the results BUT I control all my traffic.

Now this 2257 thing is really pushing me towards B but having a site that is a major player for a specific niche in the search world what be a major accomplishment.

I Need help, please.
