At the time, I was still working for a start up company and living about 2 blocks away from the Sears Tower in downtown Chicago.

I was updating my sites and getting ready to go into the office when my wife told me to turn on the TV. As I was watching the one on fife, the other plane hit.
Then the report of the one going down in a field and the one that hit the Pentagon.
I thought for sure the Sears tower would get hit as well.

The wife and I grabbed the dog and hopped in the car and got out of the city for the day, just in case.

Drove to my parents house in the suburbs. Incidently my cousin who lives in NY was visiting and staying at my parents house. He slept till about 1pm. And awoke to find what had happened and that he could not get home.

That was a surreal day.
