I was asleep in bed and Mark came in to tell me what had happened... I didnt fully comprehend what he was saying, and rolled over and went back to sleep. In the morning I realised that Mark had been up following the events on television all night... actually watching the devastation in the US and our world changing.
Driving to work that morning was almost dream like... the radio in the car was covering all events... everyone had their car headlights on as a sign of respect and acknowledgement... and looking across at other cars stopped at traffic lights, I saw drivers, both men and women, crying as they listened to the same reports as I was.
Its a day that changed us all.
