You have the right thought-processes, Alphawolf. I always like seeing webmasters who admit they don't know it all and are big enough to ask questions.
My advice would be to submit daily to 30 to 50 (there are, unfortunately, few others worth a submission). Try and get partner accounts now. GG&J is populated by link list owners who know and probably already trust you. Try for 2 sites per day, using different niches and sponsors.
You then have your galleries for tgp (which, despite what they say, can pay an awesome amount if worked right). If you haven't already, get yourself a load of tgp partner accounts. Spend a few hundred dollars and pay for some passes too.
Do this quick enough and you have more time to post on gg&j
