There has to be a give and take to who gets listed and who doesnt - and thats "EACH" LL owners decision - not a group effort or common group of LL owners - and never will be because we are not an association or corporation together. I have very specific rules based on something that happened 4 or 5 years ago to me - Greenie has some rules in his list because of his experiences in 1998 - Every one of the LL owners has a different experience they bring to the biz - and base their own rules on that experience. A very good example - I dont allow people to submit from certain IPs and Hosts - I made that decision on percentages of cheating - wheras some other LL owners will list those same sites and allow them to cheat their surfers - its just a matter of opinion.
As far as the second point of using common sense - that has no place in a place of business - decisions should never be based on common sense - they should be based on facts if you want to succeed - if I make decisions based on common sense I would have to give up all of the things my company has afforded me, and I really like my "stuff"
Last point - and really just a piece of advice from one LL owner to another - when given suggestions from people that have been extremely sucessful at running LLs to the point of making an income that you probably wouldn't believe - I would listen to every word and take those suggestions and run with them. I've seen hundreds of LL owners, Free site submitters and TGP owners and submitters come and go like butterflies - and the only ones that stayed around and are still here - are the ones that not only took the advice given as fact, thanked that person and implemented them immediately in their own biz practices. Life is way too short to try to change others practices when that energy could be spent taking those lessons learned and following them to a tee - and make your own fortune

I agree with you apart from the comman sense part but hey we are all different. Wuth regard to advice and such from experienced webmasters I take lots of it on board and get a lot of input daily, you are right its good free advice which is not often published anywhere.
For what its worth I read this board more then I post as its down to advice I got here that took me from a single page geo cities site into a LL. I dont know how to justify my level of income in fairness I figure I make about £1,800 GBP per month at the moment which compared to the hours and effort is prob the equivilent of working in retail store.
What I guess I have learnt from this thread is I need to find LL which will acept what I produce and partner with them. mind you the simplest thing is to ajust my build.
Maybe one I will leave all these frustrations behind, I thought I had to be fair though much work is needed. As you say we ae never all going to have the same business practises as we are not linked. To me thats a shame as Im very much into communties - have a top weekend :-)
