I always have logo, enter, gallery 1, gallery 2 and back buttons as graphics. I'm no designer but I have PhotoImpact, poor man's Photoshop. It's very easy to do good looking graphics with it.

I build a site, submit and forget. But, I put every site on my own list of free sites and I have my own one page LL that list them all. Google likes that page. I still don't have tons of SE traffic, but everything helps, and I update that page every Sunday and it takes only 20 seconds or so.
