Mila, take the tour of the site you are promoting. Check every page. They usually has catchy text and you can use that text in your free site because you are promoting them.
Some webmasters can write text links of their own, some can't. Sometimes I can, but many times not, because I build sites for every niche I can find and I can't like them all and there is many niches I know nothing about. So, I take the tour and pick the text I think will sell.
I like to use the compilation of banner and text. I like odd banners best, but use horizontal if I can't find odd. I have also made experiments with vertical banners without text. In the long run they sell, but text is better.
Anyway, keep building. More sites you have more cash you will earn. These days are hard, but sign-ups will come. Those days when you put up a gallery or free site and posted it and next day you had 10-30 signups are gone. I was lucky to live it. Not from the start, but last years anyway.
