There are only three critical rules in this business:
1. They who control the traffic flow write the rules.
2. Abide by the rules.
3. Drink beer.
One's perception of the rejection is what is important here. Cleo rejected me once because a TCG ad had the word 'young' on it. When I read that email, I didn't think 'fuck Cleo and fuck her rules even more'. I thought, 'how the hell didn't I catch that?' and 'who the fuck puts young on a teen ad anymore?' To me, rejections aren't because the rules are flawed, it is a flaw in my presentation. Then again, I have pretty low self-esteem.
