Well, ThumbsPlus is pretty simple. You just select the folder of images you want to use. Use it's webpage wizard and it will walk you through the quick process, telling it what size thumbs you want, jpg or gif, where do you want them, how many columns and row in your tables, etc. Hit the button and it instantly thumbs the pics and creates your thumb table page. However, you still need to know basic HTML to alter the layout enough for ads and recips.
I take a slower multi program route because my galleries are for free sites. I rename the pics with a keyword or two. I add alt and title tags to all of the thumbs and graphics. I move the tables around for aesthetic reasons and to allow for odd shaped banners or text blurbs. I apply CSS to my text, links and thumb borders. You can go from a very simple table layout to a huge HTML monster in no time.
