2 things occurred that make it pretty obvious that the US elections will never be the same. 4 years ago the Republican appointed justices in a split descision decided that FL voters have the right to vote but if a van full of ballots disappears then those votes just don't count. Basically "You have the right to vote but you don't have the right to have it counted".
Then the Republican President and Republican house decided that voting machines no longer need to keep paper trails and the software used for voting should be kept secret. No honest data security expert can accept this as a good or secure recommendation. Basically we don't want to hijack a van again so we will make sure that there are no more ballots to destroy.
The Supreme Court ruling makes voiding a vote almost impossible, even when everyone agrees the numbers don't match. The electronic voting machines have removed all physical records of voting.
This election may or may not have been rigged and we will never know becasue the bits are gone. Even if it is determined that this one was rigged the courts have already ruled. That's a double gaurentee that we no longer have to have free and honest elections.
Isn't that one of the new made up reasons why there are so many people dieing in Iraq?
