The number of letters/characters doesn't matter if it's over 3. Some criteria for attributing value would be if it's a single word (obviously more vavluabel than several words), if the word is memorable and brandable, if the word is associated with a high-concept or popular product, and if the domain receives any search engine traffic.
Your domain is easy to remember and brandable. I would think you could get an OK price for it considering someone has actually taken the initiative to ask for it. Your not talking X,XXX though.
To answer your question, a 5 letter domain is worth what someone is willing to pay.
However, phone.com would be worth more than fones.com.
