Files on sponsor's freehost
What do you guys think about storing videos on free hosts that sponsors provide, and then hotlinking files from it?
All html files on my main host, ilikexxx.com, but vids on something like ilikexxx.wildcash.com , is it ok or not? If not, then why? Thanks |

That would violate two almost universal rules: Content on same domain as freesite and no freehosts.

Yep, you're fighting a losing battle Ilikexxx. Free hosts have been abused to such an extent, you're not going to find any reputable sites that will list them. And Fonz is exactly right...the harder you make it on reviewers to confirm your hosting...the less likely you are to get listed.

Is there anyway I could take advantage of free hosting? Maybe host banners on them? but that would be not enough. I really want to promote movies, but it's just too much bandwith.
Any one has any suggestions/ideas? |

Just build the whole site on the freehost, and ask LL owners individually if you can submit them.
I think thats the only way you're gonna work with it. Some freehosts use redirects and popups in their 404 page, others just have a single page which a surfer can simply press the "back" button. Some LL's might be ok with that, others simply wont bend. You'll most likely want to just open up a dialogue with each one.

IMO you are just wasting time with free host - most LL owners wont list those sites.
buy domain ~ $8 / year at start you wont need much bandwich get yourself 10 GB bandwich for $10 get at http://www.cheapbw.com/ - its prepaid system so you buy bandwich whenever you need it (you have 2 months to use it - if you dont, just buy smallest pack (5gb) and you will have another 2 months to use it). 10GB will be enough for at least 2-3 months I guess (depends how often you will build sites) With just one signup (lets count $30) you will get your money back + additional $12 |

I will accept content on sponsors freehost on http://strange-attractor.kwikfire.com so long as the referring page is your own and the freehost does actually belong to a sponsor and is not one of those crappy Ad supported things that I use for pages I dont really care about and no surfer is ever gonna see (SEO links)

You'll find very, very, very few experienced list owners who will accept your sites if they notice that your content is hosted elsewhere. If you choose to proceed with this plan, don't be shocked when you see your name in the cheaters forum when a reviewer sees you linking to content on another domain. Also, don't be surpised when you get redirected to another page when clicking from a page on your domain directly to a movie or pic file hosted on a free host.
If you are burning 250Gbs of bandwidth, yet not earning enough from your sites to make that easily affordable, your sales approach sucks or your movies/pics are being hotlinked.

Thats exactly the reason most LL owners do NOT accept free/sponsor hosted stuff - as well as a lot of TGP owners now - the hosts are notorious for not only removing your content - but more importantly - they make their money by skimming a certain percentage of clicks to your site to run to their own pages. No LL that is worth submitting to is going to allow a free host or sponsor host.

ilikexxx it would work if you didnt make your movies so big in mb, i saw one of your sites and you have there movies 2.2mb a piece so having 6 or 8 movies makes you site hugeeeeeeee. smaller the movies in kb and you will burn less
