Whats the difference between a Freesite and a AVS site?

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

A freesite is free and requires no verification to enter other than to read and understand the terms on the Enter page. A freesite typically has 4 pages (Enter --> Main --> Gallery 1 & Gallery 2). A freesite builder uses the free movies or pictures on the gallery pages as a pretext to convincing the surfer to click on an ad link and purchase a paysite membership. That membership will then in turn give the builder a commission.
AVS stands for Adult Verification System. An example is SexKey. With an AVS, you have to go through some sort of process to pay and/or prove your age in order to access a number of adult sites. Once inside the walls of the AVS, surfers are usually given an up sell pitch to a full paid membership. AVS sites begain to declined several years ago when US Courts ruled that use of a credit card alone was not sufficient to prove a surfer's age of majority. Aw, Dad, you've done a lot of great things, but you're a very old man, and old people are useless

Great explanation!! Just remember, the goal of both an AVS and a free site is the same, get people into your site and upsell them to the sponsor programs. That's what we're all trying to do. Your job is to do your research to find the best marketing method that you are comfortable with to promote sponsors. There are so many differents ways...galleries (which is where I think most webmasters should at least start to learn how the industry works) as well as blogs, free sites, and AVS for the more experienced webmasters. Good luck!! Matt |
