Help: Need people to check our site on Opera
Someone commented on a blog that forthegirls.com was flagged as a fraudulent site on the Opera browser.
I installed Opera myself and this warning isn't coming up. I realise it's the night before Thanksgiving and I'm probably talking to tumbleweeds, but if there's anyone on the board who feels like helping me out, I'd be very grateful. If you have Opera, can you run the "Page Security Info" thing and check to see that FTG is OK. Thanks And the rest of you, enjoy your turkey.

Seems to be all clear here and not reported as being fraudulent.

Thanks art. I'm now wondering whether this blog poster might have had devious reasons for posting the fraud thing... Or maybe I'm just paranoid.

No probs.
Are you in contact with the person who reported the issue? Maybe find out what version of Opera they are using. Though I'd doubt the version would be an issue so I'm grasping at straws here. ![]() FYI I'm using Opera/9.27 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en) (time to update). |

Is the fraudulent site thingie built-in to Opera or is it a plug-in? Maybe they've added something of their own to the default settings which catches your site.

It seems built in. There's a dropdown list under tools - advanced - page security info. I'm using the very latest version, 9.62
I've actually never used opera until today, it seems quite snazzy and quicker than firefox.

Can you modify it to add your own info? Does it let you see what it uses to ID the iffy sites?

That which does not kill us, will try, try again.

Opera 9.62 on Mac says: This site has not been reported as harmful or fraudulent.
Nice new tour... and welcome back. ![]()

Opera says it uses Netcraft, Phishtank and Haute Secure for to check site security. As far as I can see you can't make changes to that setting. I went to those 3 sites to see if they had listed us but, aside from Haute which wanted me to sign up to stuff, things seemed OK.
I left a comment on the relevant blog asking the guy to contact me with further info about how he got that info. Beyond that it seems that FTG is coming up fine for everyone else, so I might stop worrying about this. And thanks Simon ![]()

That surfer might be infected, not your site.
There is some malware floating around reporting fake error stuff and sending you to a phishing/hijack download page. http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquir...s-avg-web-site |

Hmm, interesting. But it's not that.
Here's what the guy wrote: "Hrm..I’m using Opera to browse, which is informing me that the For The Girls (FTG) link provided above takes me to a page that “has been reported as fraudulent [and that] it will likely attempt to trick you into sharing personal or financial information [and that] Opera Software strongly discourages visiting this page.” Opera checks the domain name of requested pages against blacklists on a server compiled by Netcraft, PhishTank and Haute Secure. I am under the impression that if FTG doesn’t want to be blacklisted, they need to contact Opera Software ASA. I’m not saying I don’t trust e-Madam Violet Blue, just sharing some unexpected security related whatnot."
