Best way to redirect to a sponsor?

What's the best way to redirect surfers from a page on my server to a paysite.

I've seen people do it like this.

Link on a freesite/gallery -> links to http://www.yourdomain.com/sponsorname/paysitename.html -> redirects straight to sponsor paysite

Now what code do I use on the paysite.html page?
I used to know this but it has been so long since I've done this
