Tom Petty - on life support?

Yeah, you read that right. He was found on the floor of his Malibu home unconscious and in a state of full cardiac arrest. At the hospital, he was put into an induced coma and on life support. Some are reporting he is dead, but there is doubt out there.

He is dead after they disconnected him from life support due to not having any brain activity.

When I posted earlier, he was still physically alive but on life support. The one story that said he had no brain activity was also the one that was removed (CBS), but not until that story had been picked up by way too many. Officially, his band manager has released a statement that he passed away at 11:30 pm Pacific time on the 2nd of October.

That whole Tom Petty reporting thing was messy. Dead - not dead - dead. Sorry to hear he is gone. I enjoyed his Traveling Wilburys stuff. RIP

My brothers got me into listening to him way way way back, so I would say it has been a good 40 years or so of great music. So sad to see him gone, and to see how it was handled. RIP (Now that it has been confirmed)
