Sign an online petition to try and stop the largest broadcast company in the nation from airing an anti Kerry "documentary" 10 days before the election. Amazing how the right wing thinks this is ok to do, not like there are LAWS against this.... oh what there are, we are just ignoring them. There is a HUGE difference from FORCING 24% of the TV stations in the United States from showing a "documentary" on free TV and from offering a $9.95 Pay Per View. This is why this administration needs to go, the way they continue to bend/break the laws for their own good. How much farther can we as a country let the far right lead us into ruin? VOTE! |

Since when did this board become so political? Since when did GW and this administration have power over every business in the nation. Did you guys ever think that maybe people do this to voice their own opinions? Now I have no doubt that GW and his campaign staff were putting feelers out to do this, but its up to the networks to put the shit on the air. We cannot keep blaming GW for all of this stuff. It's getting disheartening to hear everyone blame this administration instead of blaming the actual people who do this shit. If you have a problem with the networks showing the commerical/infomercial or whatever you want to call it, then sign the petition, but don't sit here and blame GW, not EVERYTHING is this mans fault.

I've personally never held that EVERYTHING is Bush's fault. The campaign to eradicate porn, tax cuts for the richest people in America while more families and children are living in poverty than at any other time in my life, an ill advised war in Iraq that was shoved down our throats by a propaganda machine that KNEW GOD DAMNED WELL that there were no WMDs in Iraq.....sure.....but not EVERYTHING.
BTW, you think that documentary would be getting aired if Dubya wasn't in support of it? Think again. Essentially this is tantamount to a multi million dollar campaign contribution in my eyes. And for the record if the tables were turned I'd still think it was BS. Unfortunately for our great nation most people are too stupid to disbelieve what is said on TV, as if there's some all powerful fact checker preventing TV producers from lying in their broadcasts. We have turned into a nation of sheep waiting to be told where to go and what to do next. I can respect the position of a Bush supporter that he shouldn't take all the blame for something like this happening, as long as they can respect my position that a man who signed up for the National Guard to dodge the draft then essentially went AWOL from the National Guard has no business criticizing another man's war record one way or the other, and Bush did start the name calling on this one. [/RANT] I honestly believe that everyone, including TV networks, has the right to voice their opinions. I happen to disagree about that being the case here. IMO this is yet one more attempt by the "entertainment machine" to pull the wool over the eyes of voters with misleading info and/or outright lies. That really pisses me off, no matter who's getting trash talked about them. Last edited by MadMax; 2004-10-12 at 08:11 PM.. |

Some network should make a ground breaking deal with Michael Moore to show F9/11 the same night. Personally they can spin Kerry any way they want; there's not a chance Bush is going to get my vote. Didn't like him then, can't stand him now. He and his administration are nothing more than currupt cronies who suck the boob of anyone who will pay them.

I've discovered so many huge things that ARE Bush's fault, I've come to blame everything on the ruthless drooling bastard, right down to the local weather. Up until a few months into the Iraq war, I was a 'morally flexible republican'. I even voted for Bush in 2000. That will never happen again. This administration is so corrupt, it has turned me against all republicans, even the local schmoes.
The other day some wayward politician stumbled onto my porch with his flyer in his hand. I opened the door, and with the screen door between he and my dogs, I asked which party he represented. He replied, republican. I then explained that my barking, growling dogs disagree with the views of his party, and that he should retreat post haste. He didn't even say good bye. ![]() Anyway, as strongly as the conservatives opposed the Reagan movie, why shouldn't we oppose this spin, which is guaranteed to be bold face lies.
