Opinion About Screen Captures

I have been playing around with the idea of adding screen captures of submitted sites (sort of like what is done on Alexa) to the detailed section of my link list.

This is sort of what I'm thinking about:

Unfortunatly its not an automated process yet, so I am going to have to go back through A LOT of links to hand do this if I decide to do so.

Do you think it is worth adding to the site?

Don't know if this will help, but Porn Wizzard's script seems to do automatic screen caps...I doubt they do all those manually.

IMO it could be cool if it was automated. The thing is you'd have to balance page weight with results per page. I've tried surfing Porn Wizzard and it's cumbersome because they only show like 15 or 20 results on a page. The biggest issue is obviously whether your surfers will like it or not and if it will make you more cash.

Maybe try a couple test pages with some links done that way and see how the pageviews do. Or try it on your sponsor links and see if you clickthroughs go up, which is easy enough to track with the sponsor stats.

Just some ideas.

I don't think it's worth it. Your pages will load slower for your dialup users and, IMO, if you use screencaps they should lead direct to your sponsors. I'd stick with good old-fashioned titles and descriptions.

I guess I need to clarify a little... the idea would be that there is the standard text only links which would have a link to the detailed page, and on the Detailed page like above showing the screen capture (and giving me another place to show banner advertisements

)

Ahhhh...makes much more sense that way. I guess at that point the issue would be how the surfers feel about having another page between them and the porn.
