How is your conversion
Hi all, I'm pretty new to this, but I was just wondering how well do you convert and what you use, like free sites, link lists, TGP sorta thing and do you use bought content or free content and where do you get most of your traffic from, also what niche is your best niche?
currently im getting about 600 visitors a day and ive been up for about a week, i use free sites and only link lists for the traffic, so far with about 3500 visitors i have had about 350 unique clicks total on my 6 sponsors, but im still waiting on my first sale. In about a week i will be optimizing my sites for search engines and I hope that will get me alot more traffic. Ive been primarely doing bondage sites, but Im going to branch out and do many more. |

My suggestion to you and any other newbie is to start with free sites because they convert better, have targeted traffic, and are low in bandwidth usage. I get most of my traffic from link list such as http://www.link-o-rama.com. The best way to find out who has the best traffic in your niche is to go to the search engine and search for your niche term and see who comes up on top. Then add them to your list and submit to them. Some sites do better than others in certain niches so this is the best way to find out which. As for content I would stear more towards brought content than free content because most free sponsor content is slowly being reject by all link list. This is happening for several reasons. The content are of very bad quality, most of the time vid caps, and they become saturated very fast. So I think you would do best buying content so that your sites are unique and more likely to get accepted at link list along with providing something different than the sponsor content that the sufers are used to. This might catch there eye enough to give you a better chance at click thru and making a sale from them. Your best niche is whatever you promote the most ![]() Quote:
As far as your first sale goes it will come in time just keep submiting a free site everyday to about 60 of the top link list and you should see a few in no time. The best newbie advise I can give you is to not dwell on getting your first sale. Just build, submit, and forget. Sooner than later your sign ups with me coming in no time. Don't use your not getting your first sale as an excuse to not keep working. Im not saying this is what your doing just saying in general. SEO is very important in sales as well because the search engines give you the best conversion. I suggest you target smaller keywords for your free site because all the major ones are already taken by webmasters who have been around longer and know the game better. Being primary in a niche such as bondage isnt a bad thing if thats what you like. It is said that you do better in conversion doing what you like because the work comes out better. Also bondage is a unique fetish which people like and are not as easy to get good access to as some of the general niches are. I suggest if your going to branch out you should try things near what you like such as other fetishes. I hope some of this helps you out and if you have any question feel free to ask them here or pm me ![]() JoeBlack Last edited by JoeBlack; 2004-11-25 at 01:29 AM.. |

No matter how good you are at something, there's always about a million people better than you

Hi AliMeBitch,
I think JoeBlack put things really well in his reply post. I liked his tip on searching for a top listed link site in a given niche. I've done it before but never really considered why it was important. The more you build and write ad copy the better you will become at selling the sizzle. I've found that I have better luck selling some sponsors than I do others. It's just something else you'll find as you build more sites. SE traffic is a great thing but you should make sure you're getting the right traffic for your sponsors. Take your sponsors tour, write ad copy that works with the tour and work SE keywords that are relevant. Spend some time at http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/ and get some idea as to what people are searching for in the bondage niche. I would say always go with bought content and paid hosting for the reasons JoeBlack stated and that it shows a level of investment in your business. Give yourself some time and keep trying new things and asking questions. In no time you'll have a list of things that work for you and, an equally as important, list of things that don't work for you. Regards, SF |

I'd recommend submitting to both the high-traffic links lists and the lower-traffic ones. The high traffic lists have very restrictive rules but send a lot of traffic if you can get listed. The low traffic lists usually accept automatic submissions and templated sites, so it takes very little work to get listed at a whole lot of them. Individually, they may not send many visitors, but as a whole, it adds up.

hi AliMeBitch
Your sites over all looks good. As for your click thru stats its hard for me to tell because some sponsors count first page hits and others count second page hits. So that means even tho you see in your counter stats high traffic that doesnt mean those people are going to your join page. What I will say you can do is to add more descriptive text around your banners on your warning page like you did on your main page. Your warning page is the first and last place you want them to go. Your job is to sell them before they get to the free content. Also use lighter colors to high light key terms that will catch the surfers eye. JoeBlack |
