running a TGP

I want to create a TGP but me being a complete dimbat 'n all I'm not sure the best way to go about it. I've been reading a lot of the posts on this and other boards about TGPs and there seems to be a whole load of stuff I need to know. Like this thread on cheaters selling partner accounts n shit. And also about what software to use.

So my question is what is the best way to go about creating TGP. Can any of you TGP gurus sum up setting up a TGP in a few simple but essential steps ?

hi

i have a tgp but im not a guru. if i was starting a tgp today i would do the following:

buy a copy of autogallery sql
get that all installed (very easy and very good manuals and support)
build the html pages the way you want them and create your submit page, rules and recips.

then you can do one of two things:
1.) list a bunch of sponsor hosted galleries until you start getting submissions.
2.) go to russian submitter and submit your tgp to them and recieve submissions from them.

the one thing you will never have to worry about is getting submissions. there are a dozen auto submitter places out there that will send you more galleries than you can review in a day. dont make the mistake of getting your tgp listed at too many of them or you'll end up getting swamped with 3 thousand gallery submissions per day.

and 2 peaces of advice i will give you about reviewing galleries:

1.) if you run the autogallery sql gallery scanner and it says "page content has been changed" or "thumbnail count has been changed" - blacklist the domain. theres no reason why a pages content would change unless the webmasters is up to something.

2.) if you see a webmaster submitting 50 galleries a day with 50 different domains - blacklist them. the multi submitting is usually the beginning of a scam where they get 200 galleries listed with 200 different domains and start redirecting a few domains at a time every few days to trojan, pop-up, virus hell. and they use stolen content anyways. its usually pretty easy to spot these guys because they give very generic descriptions - they always submit to the teen category - and they only have about a dozen different gallery templates that they use over and over.

more information than you wanted probably but... im in a talkative mood tonight good luck with it.

I just installed Auto Gallery SQL and give it 2 thumbs up so far! I'll have plenty of template and design work to do still, but it seems to do everything I need it to do (so far at least).

Did I mention I already have 4 submits Oh, those were mine just testing it...

Not much help with your questions, but AG SQL is good.

Thanks guys for your helpful info, seems like AG SQL is the way to go.

About catching cheaters -

It seems to be the consensus that partner accounts are the way to stop cheaters but in another one of the threads on this board someone was talking about people selling partner accounts. While I was looking at the various auto submitters the info for this one

http://www.bangsoft.com

sounds like it's been designed for TGP webmasters and they have an answer to stop these cheaters, including people selling partner accounts.

Are any of you guys using it ?

i dont get nearly enough visits a day to charge anyone to submit galleries. but i think that would be the best way to go if you can pull it off.

I run a respectable and fairly well know Asian TGP (http://asian-bliss.com) and I update everything by hand. Some of the best TGP's still don't use scripts. All you need is a good host really.
