google unbanned me
hey!
first post here.. ![]() anyway i registered a dropped domain a while ago, and put up a linklist on it. 4 days ago i was up to 130 listed sites, and 40 of them showing up as incoming links in google. (doing the link: domin.com thing..) however, when i did a search for my domain.com i got zero results, also i had no visits from googlebot. i decided to write a mail to google and ask them about it. i actually got a reply after just 24 hours. i told them how i had regged a dropped domain etc... when i do a search for my domain.com there is actually a result. pretty bad result since its the page that my domain held before it dropped thats in the index. now i just await the return of the googlebot and ill be on my way .. shows that you should not register a previously owned domain and that even if you do, google will sometimes be nice and unban you. |

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think NOT!

Good news on the un-ban... good luck with your site

You just reminded me to check on a domain of mine that I requested to be unbanned by G. Looks like it is unbanned with barely any links. I guess I just need to wait too

bill, first i got an automated reply:
Thank you for writing to Google. This automated response is just to let you know that we've received your email, and you'll hear from us soon. Thank you for using Google. Regards, The Google Team then, i got what seems to be a standardised reply Hi Kim, Thank you for your note. We understand your concern and have passed your message on to our engineering team for further investigation. We appreciate your patience. Regards, The Google Team |

Yes, those are their standard automated letters, everyone gets them depending on the nature of the request. I don't know this for sure, but I suspect the letters are generated completely by computer, based on a semantic analysis of the request sent.
What do you mean by "banned"? Why do you think you were banned, rather than just being very low in the serps? I don't follow the whole drops thing that much, but last I checked google was still zeroing the pagerank of dropped names for a couple of months, then bringing them back into the index based on whatever backlinks they still retained. So it's possible your domains were just going thru this natural rank-stripping process. Anybody have any thoughts on the status of drops, dropped names, in google these days. |

Bill - right now it looks like drops are automatically zeroing out, however 1 or 2 slip through unharmed. The ones that do get zeroed out do seem to get back their "PR" one new links have been added that play into the new PR. Seems to still be a waiting period of about 6 months average to get sites you set up on these domains to get any kind of good rankings in the SERPs but after that they usually are fine.
A lot also depends on their prior use - its always good to check it first ![]() |

i base my assumptions on this:
when i first registered the domain, there was no results in google when i did a search for 'domain.com' after a while collecting freesites with linkback, i checked my link popularity, with the 'link: domain.com' and found 30 or so links. still no result for my domain. nothing, no visits from googlebot. after writing the email, my domain shows up in the index, when searching for 'domain.com', but when i check the cache of the page, its some goofy page that the previously owner must have created, because i sure didnt make the page. so, to me it seems like the google staff just changed some status flag on my domain, and thus it showed up in the index. with the old page that is. anyways, google sure works in mysterious ways .. |

hartman - how long have you had the domain, and how long have you had the backlinks?
Also, when you check your raw logs on the server, do you see any googlebot visits? One other thing to check is the backlinks again as they are being updated as we speak - and things will be changing over the weekend - right now is not the best time to check standings in Google ![]() ![]() |

linkster, i had the domain since october.
the backlinks have been up since october november something... the domain is hosted with webair, and they dont give raw logs on their virtual acounts, but in the Wusage stats area i usually check the webbrowser stats since on my other sites the googlebot appear there. to clarify i have no visits from googlebot on this yet. right now i got 49 backlinks. |

thanks hartman - well - to start off - again its a little early to start checking during this Google update, but normally a site that does get spidered right away would still take 2-3 months to get fully indexed (all info put into the database) - so youre right on the edge to see if Google has done a complete indexing of your domain.
One question on the backlinks - are they from pages that get spidered on a daily basis or less frequently? The other request (you can do this privately if you'd prefer by PM) - is to see the domain - it might help quite a bit to do some quick looks ![]() |

well, the domain is http://www.pornluv.com , its no secret
![]() the backlinks are just recips from freesites, so i doubt that they get spidered very often.. hehe, just when i posted this i checked the linkbacks and there are now 55. |

Anyone think that is wrong or know another way? Bill.. I cant be sure what rules are now as all my drop domains that were greybarred after re-regging came back a while ago.. and i stopped buying them 18months or 2 years ago.... BUT talking amongst a few friends that have bougth thousands between them over years... there was a whole bunch that came back all at same time around 1 year after that update when they greybarred many/most exisiting ones... Since early this year it appears if you buy a drop... they would not greybar it... but it went to PR0 ... from what differnet people have told me I am starting to think what google are doing rather than tracking old/new backlinks... is they simply discount all re-regged drop-domains PR and backlink value.. by 100%... next update it's discounted by 80%... then 60%... etc ect... in other words it appears to me that a drop takes about 6 months until google will give full value for the irrelevant backlinks.. Again... that's just my suspicions based on bits and pieces I have noticed over months. No one should go and bet your house on the info. |
