Is this a morally wrong thing to think of doing?

Well I have been reading, yeah i know hard to see with my spelling an smoking habits. Anway about this AI Bot shit. I have been looking around and some of it is pretty smart. I was thinking of putting up another site that looked like a girls personal promo site, but offered chat for free. I can drop the bot in there and she/it can talk to the visitors an tell them she works on my site for shows? Do you think this is wrong or just stupid? I was chatting with this alice bot today and man it was pretty good. You would think at times it may just be from another country when it screws up. But I have chatted with worse.

I try not to actually deceive my surfers in order to get a sale, and I'd feel like I was being decptive with something like that.

I hear you. It was a very tempting thing. My wife and I were playing with one at this place. http://www.mondobot.com/botfeature.p...5756&Cat=adult
It was so so tempting for her as she gets pissed at this job sometimes with the beggers and felt this would be perfect for them. anyway we are almost at our max for hosts and things are going ok tonight and this weekend was not bad either so I agree with you. One part of me was so interested to see how that would work but the good guy in me said NO it will bite your site in the ass later. So its a no go. But hey if you are bored go talk with one of these things its cool to see they are getting smarter.

I don't think it's even remotely immoral. Unethical? Probably. But what could be immoral about engaging an idiot with a 'bot?

I saw a news report a few years ago where a guy was suing the 1-900 company he was working for. He considered his termination sexual discrimination because he was a guy.

Turns out the guy is a soprano. He naturally sounded like a girl. The guys that where calling in thought they where talking to a real girl. I'm sure there was something else going on, the 900 company isnt going to turn down money. But it does address the ethics of deciption.

I'm not sure if the bot is unethical or immoral. But one thing is for sure, if the customer is spending money and he/she isnt getting what they paid for, its fraud.

Hi Barron we are not going to go ahead with this but what we were thinking is this. You can completly customize the bot to what ever phrases you want them to say for certain phrases inputted to the chat. We were not going to charge the customer to talk to that bot at all. Right now if you go on the web you will find webcam girls that host their own pages and then send people to Ifriends or what ever site they are working on. We wanted to set up a site just like this. We would have images of my wife along with bio and maybe a diary etc also with very clear wording that she works on jollycams to provide her shows but also chats on her site in order to get people to come to jollycams and buy her shows. We would set the bot to talk to the people an when they asked for a show or what ever else phrase we can input into that thing. Have it reply with something like "Well I'm working here if you want to see me now" etc. They would really be getting a show from a live girl, just not paying to talk to the bot, they would have to pay for the show at jollycams. I dont know if that fraud as you are not charging them until they get to the real live girl. I'm sure some would figure it was a bot after a little while. I think the thing only does like 130 phrases a day so the next day would be a repeat chat or when they think they can just go an talk to her at any time it would also be repeat. But this is a touchy area. I think it falls more under the deception as fraud is just like you said. If they were paying to talk to that bot that for sure would be a totaly rip off. Shit I would love to set one up just to see how long some of these people talk to them. lol I was reading where a guy had one running and logged close to 6 months worth of chat from some people thinking it was a real girl. lol. Man that must have been heart breaking for those guys but that is part of the internet. One day you think you are talking to Mary Jane and the next day you find out its Big Bob and his lonly night time habit. lol.

I remember about a year ago, I was checking for possible places for link trades. I went a link list, clicked on a gallery and looked at the recips. Whichever one I clicked on took me to a site that uses a cj script. I saw a picture of great looking babe. I set out to find the content provider so I could buy some sets of this girl. However, when I clicked on the link to find the webmaster listing the gallery I was sent to another cj site. I never found the webmaster that submitted the link, nor did I find that content provider that has her sets.

It was then that I decided cj sites where not for me. Had I been a surfer, I would have been filtered to the exact thing I wanted. Instead, I was sent some place else. I did just what a surfer would have done, I closed the window and never looked back to either of the sites. Even as a webmaster I was ready to pull out my credit card.

I'm thinking, if the bot costs the surfer no money and he then clicks or types in the url for the show, your recieving quality filtered traffic. Your getting what you want, the surfer is getting what he wants. Everybodys a winner.

If cj scripts are not immoral or unethical, neither is the use of a bot for filtering traffic. At least in this case, the surfer will be sent to exactly what he clicked on.

If you not charging the surfer to talk to the bot, I say go for it!
