Getting a link list listed

hi been working on my link list site and wondering how done it has to be to get listed with the link list people on this board ?

no samples yet but i will have about 40 catagories

how many active catagories do i need to get listed ?
and how many links should be on it ?

also the catagories that are not active should they be visible ?

Well its hard to say but 40 categories is gonna be tough to fill up ya might want to start smaller and work your way up by adding categories as you site grows

The # of categories will grow with the number of listing you have. Having 40 categories with 2 or 3 links in each is a waste of time IMHO.

well that makes sense I will just hide cats that are empty and in spare time put sponsors pay sites in a pay site list and a free site list below of course my codes will be in pay links

what do you think 10 to 15 pay site listings and 20 or 30 free listings

i can always do like you said find sites and use my own descriptions and list them

till i get a submit script ill have to do the email thing

the only problem i see with this project is it will take a hell of a long time and i cant suck all of my time in it because a need more free sites to feed the thing and my sponsors

main question to get listed how many catagories with how many sites in each

you never know a year from now i might be a major player with porn o plenty xxx links

In theory, you only need one cateogry to get lsited (assuming that you are a niche specific link list)

I'd say go thru the links you have, categorize them & put online what you have (like you said, you can always not link up the lesser categories until you get a decent amount of sites in there)

Then post it & we'll go from there

plateman - just remember, you asked

1 - the index should really be a warning page, not a story about the how & why's of the site - move that part to the main (2nd) page

2 - I'd cut down the ads on the index page to 2 - one up top, one under the enter (maybe one between the warning & the enter) I'd also use a smaller font

3 - move "Friends of porn o plenty xxx links" to the 2nd page - get them inside before you send them off to another site

4 - get rid of the "Enter here for new sites" link - just send them all to the main page & push the newsites to them on there

5 - "All content and ads on this site are licensed and comply with title 18 u.s.c. 2257" - get rid of that - or at least rephrase it - you don't have 2257 for everything on there (meaning the ads)

6 - the font on most of the main page copuld be a little smaller & use CAPS for the 1st letters of words in titles:

7 - "Back home" sending them back to the index is strange - your main page is your "home" page

8 - center the tables on the category pages - you're also gonna run into a problems somewhere down the road where a description is too big for the table & that'll make the cells look off due to one being bigger than the rest. Might want to shitcan the tables all together & use a simpler formula:

my friends table that you told me to move 2nd or main page do you think that the other link lists will frown if i put it on the bottom of page

one more where will my site get listed on your main page in your friends list or in your morelink category

ps i will add links soon from email submits. Anybody here that wants to add there link i will put a email link in soon

I cant promise you much traffic but it will help me out

1 - get creative - most link lists these days have the categories down one side & their major lkink trades down the other.

2 - the only way you get on my main page is if you send enough hits to get on the top 20, you're an old friend or I own the site

Greenguy I been looking around and everybody has something different I dont want to copy another site layout

how about a table below the category list ? or move table up take a look, like you said i dont want to get them to another site so quickly

this site will get better as i will, it dont have a lot of hi tech stuff

but i think it looks pretty good and now is the time to work out the layout details i can always change it later

Play around with a couple different designs & see how they look to you as a webmaster as well as a surfer

Thanks greenguy i just signed up with extreme and am going to get back to building free sites

And can play around with porno plenty in between free sites and try to pump some traffic to it through link trades and I hope se traffic when the site starts growing

I like extremes program a lot of copy and paste codes to save time

I hope you get your submit fixed soon
