LCD Screen Help

My wonderful Grand Daughter took a callus scraper to the screen of one of our LCD TVs. Does anyone know of anything that repairs scratches?

I am not a happy Grandfather right now

You could try buffing it out with her butt...other than that I'm not sure what else you can do...

Jim, depends on the model and what the material is on the front.

If you have a solid front screen, it may be a replacable part. You may also be able to use that stuff that fills in scratches on glasses if the material is a solid surface (but I am not sure).

If it is a soft LCD material screen, I am not sure that anything will truly do it...

some of these have some ideas (including vaseline, and I am sure you have some of that in the house) that can possibly make it look better (but not fix it).

Toothpaste followed by car wax will remove scratches from CDs and DVDs so that might work depending on what the front of the screen is.

It's kind of strange. I at first thought it was soft being LCD but while cleaning it just now, I noticed it was hard. I called the manufacturer and of course they are so busy, I need to send an email. So, I just did that.

I finally turned it on and the scratches are hard to see. So, I may end up just living with it. Those homemade fixes seem a little scarry. I found something that claims to fix scratches but it says that it removes part of the screen and comes with a big warning.

Well, the manufacturer just called me. They are sending a wonder cleaner that they say will most likely remove the scratches. They said if the scratches remain, they would be happy to replace the screen for about $500.

Not sure what material those are made of Jim, but I use a product called Plexus on my bike windscreen. It was originally developed for use on aircraft windshields and other plexiglass surfaces. Works VERY well at filling light scratches

You should be able to find it at your local bike shop.
