Ping List
How big is you ping list? What do you think is sufficient? Is just http://rpc.pingomatic.com enough? I've got a list of several hundred possible places to ping, but I'm wondering what you more experienced bloggers think are the most important or how many is too many.

If it takes no additional time or effort on your part to ping additional sites, as long as your not pinging the same place multiple times (by using ping-o-matic) why not ping them all?
![]() I imagine any place that lists your content is worth pinging. I feel the same way about link lists and freesites too. ![]()

I have a pretty large list that I have been going to go through and prune for over a year now. I feel you should manually do this since some of the places on most lists require you submit your site first, some of them won't accept adult, some of them will no longer be in existance, some of them....you get the idea.
In the mean time, I ping ping-o-matic which in return pings feedburner, which in turn pings a couple of places. |

No reason to ping bblog. You get nothing out of it. Was originally done so the bblog folks could keep track of people using thier script. Since their script is pretty much defunct...
feedster and moveover don't list adult. Thats about as far I ever made it in pruning down my list. |
