Redirecting surfers according to bandwidth speed.
The web is changing as more and more people get broadband. Pages are getting heavier, ie: paysite tours and TGP/MGP's with their huge thumbs. It's not uncommon to see pages close to 500K or more. (that would take a dialup user over a minute)
I'm sure the dialup user expects this nowadays, but it is possible to redirect them, based on their connection speed, to a lighter page. Has anyone here ever tried this or heard of anyone in our industry utilizing it? Cheers, BV |

Me fail English? That's unpossible!

The only thing I've seen is
"Click here for low bandwidth site" <-> "Click here for high bandwidth site" or similar. |

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand!

Yeah, kinda funny that people won't go more than 800 pixels wide, but will load their page with videos that autoplay, with animated images and heavy art. Stands to reason that those who aren't paying for newer, higher end computers might not be able to afford broadband either. Some redirection, or at least consistency, would be in order.
