How to get some traffic to my site

Hey guys..

About 2 weeks ago I started my own site.. http://www.bestxxxmedia.com and started trading links with other sites, now im getting about 50 uniques a day. The numbers arent climbing and I'm kinda wondering why.. Can you guys help me out and tell me what I should do to get rid of this problem, or does it just takes alot of time..?

Thanks in advance, Schpork

Feeder sites. Submit free sites to link lists and not only will this make you money thru sponsor links but you can place links to your own site to feed it traffic. Or you could submit galleries to TGPs and place your own recip on every gallery page that you submit. Those are the two best methods you can do for free, of course you could always look into buying traffic, but if your new to the biz and just trying to figure things out I wouldnt reccemend buying traffic.

You cant just throw up up page, trade some links and expect everyone to come running to your site and make the big bucks. Traffic takes lots of work and lots of time to build.

Very first thing I would do is take a look at your title. Are those the main keywords you are looking to rank high for in the search engines? "Best XXX Media" - Howmuch se traffic will that term pull?

Figure out some keywords you want to target, keep getting links to your site, and have them use the kws you want in the anchor text.

Also, you may be able to join some toplists or something like that to trade some of your traffic. Hope this helps.

Schpork,

Instead of focusing on getting rid of something you should adopt a positive attitude and focus on what you want. Here is what I propose.

Build a pop-under page and fill it with 20-30 relevant toplist links. Link to it from your home page. This will ensure it gets indexed. Code the pop-under java script so that it is triggered only once per browser session. You can also use a cookie to set it to once per week, etc..

Get rid of all your reciprocal links on the first page. At a minimum put them at the bottom of your home page. I suggest you have a separate reciprocal link page. The way your site is designed, the reciprocal links are a massive leak in your site. Link to sponsor reviews such as those proposed by rabbitreviews.com At least you increase the probability of making money with your exit traffic.

Feed your site just like the other posts suggest. If you don't want to build and submit galleries, you can use ChokerTraffic to send traffic to your site directly. All of this will contribute to get the traffic flywheel going.

Good luck

Just remember, that's a great way to piss off any surfers you currently have.

It'll also piss off your link trade partners and eliminate any chance of future trades.

A pop-under/week will not kill your business or piss off a surfer if done properly. It needs to be done in a way that flows with you site. Something like: Thank you for visiting site ABC. If you would like more Niche ABC porn, visit our fine partners...You get the idea. This is not the same as an out-of-nowhere FriendFiender popunder which does not even relate to the site's niche.

You can also set your pop-under to once a month, if your surfer has cookie enables. If he doesn't then who cares. CCbill won't work and many cookie based program won't either.

Greenie's comments are rather radical. Mainstream sites are now defeating the popup blocker and using other techniques to get their ads in your face for one reason: It works and people do go back to the site when it is relevant.

Radicial? Yeah, treating the surfer like a welcome guest is horribly radical.

This board is composed mostly of webmasters who follow a no bullshit philisophy when it comes to the surfer and our fellow webmasters. Most of us would deny any link exchange request where the requesting site has any type of pop, be it every visit or once per millenium.

A single relevant pop-under, in my opinion is not bullshit. What's bullshit is when you get circle-jerked trying to navigate a TGP to see some meaningful content and you keep boucing onto unrelated pages that don't match the thumbnail.

Again, most webmaster (95%) account for 5% of affiliate commissions. This might be hard to swallow but that's reality! I'm not too concerned about being like every body else.

It's not hard swallow because we already know it. This may be the newbie forum, but this isn't a newbie board.

Good, go be your own person. Go be part of that 5%. More power to you. Just don't expect not to be corrected when you give poor advice to newbies.

I appreciate other people's opinion regardless of their perspective. I think the initial poster of this thread has more value by having different viewpoints than by having other posters sucking up to the board masters.

It is pretentious of you to infer that you are correct and I am wrong. I think this should be left for the reader to decide. Unless you think they can't think for themselves.

(For the slow thinkers: I purposely replied to him using his exact statement to me. It works both ways.)

Greenie,

10 posts into the forum is very early to assess my contribution. You're the one with the ban button. I suggest you re-assess the situation 50 posts from now. If you don't want to do that, I'll leave for good.

That really is the mentality of 99.44% of the people that post here on a regular basis.

We're a group of hard working webmasters that don't fuck with our surfers with consoles or pop-unders or circle jerks or blind links or poor advertising practices. We all basically build sites that we would have no problem surfing ourselves.

Your ideas seem to be different from those - and that's fine but you're going to meet a lot of opposition on this board.

I'll admit that your last 2 threads over in Products & Services led me to believe you were some sort of spamming kook, but this thread has proven me wrong on that assumption. I'm not going to ban you because of your position on what marketing practices are good or bad, but I really think that my last statement is correct: this board is not a good place for you.

What I hate is when I tell somebody what I do, and I hear "Oh, one of them pop up guys."
What I like is when they check out a couple of my sites and say "Hey man, you've got some pretty good stuff there!"
I like to think that most surfers have a good experience at my sites and a lot of them bookmark them. A lot of them buy as well.
I've only been doing it full time for 9 years or so though, maybe pop-ups are the wave of the future
And if you're going to go that route, why limit yourself to pissing off surfers when you can go the whole nine yards and piss off link partners as well?
We need a sarcastic button

Establish a links page on your site as soon as possible. This will allow you to swap promotion with other relevant and quality sites.
and also search engine submission should be your first step when you create a website. Avoid any services that charge you to submit to a number of sites. Most of these sites are too small to bother with and you can find the larger ones on your own. Also submit to niche sites, such as search engines for your area or industry.

I'll have to object to " search engine submission ". Submitting your site to search engines is useless. They'll find it by themselves if you have any links pointing to your site. And if you don't have any links pointing to your site, then you wouldn't rank well anyway after a manual submission.

If your site is worth linking to, ask some related sites to link to yours. It'll help if you've already linked to such sites yourself, but don't make your link to them contingent on whether they link back.

if your site isn't worth linking to, then improve your site before you go asking for links. Just my 2 cent's.

welcome to the industry and your new website! you are off to a good start by asking the question! You could build content by added a co-brand cams program to your site. The design would fit your current look and feel. once users sign up for the account, they will continue to drive traffic back your site for repeat business.

Ping me if you and anyone else would like to know more!

It's 2 different things. TGP scripts run TGP's & Wordpress runs Blogs.
