Russian IPs = Auto Blocked?

I have an affiliate who has been contacting me on a regular basis trying to get some tips on building galleries and freesites. He has learned alot and appears to be very appreciative of the help. But I was wondering if TGPs & LLs automatically blocked Russian IPs due to abuse from the past and is there any way for an honest Russian WM's to submit to TGPs and LLs that are based in the US or Europe without immediately being blocked?

I would have to say that the best way is to provide accurate whois info, and to avoid any of the several Russian hosts that have a bad reputation.

I don't blacklist w/m's just because they're Russian. I have quite a few good, trusted submitters from Russia, but I gotta tell ya, a big percentage of the sites in our freesite info database that are flagged as unacceptable are on Russian hosts, and most have fake US addresses and names in their whois. Sometimes, when I'm bored I'll use Google maps to look up the addresses listed on whois info. It's hilarious. Schools, churches, the Empire State Building, police departments. After a while you just get a feel for what's fake.

Get a US (or just non Russian) host if possible, build good sites, and just be honest..

Excellent advice spiff, and I know the WM in question will be reading this thread too. I may see if we can get him some hosting on our servers and see if that will work, but at least one rather large TGP has already denied him just from his home IP where he submits from

I have never tried this, and I am probably going to be hated by several TGP/LL owners for mentioning it, but there are companies who will mask your IP by bouncing it through other servers.

Heh heh, I am sure the scammers already know about this. I did recommend that he get a VPN, but he cant afford it
