Blogs Organizer vs Blogs Automater which to use?
MadHatter is getting into blogging, and I'm thinking one of these two software programs would really help him out. He can write well, but can't really write html code at all, so figured these would help him make posts, and pull sponsor posts off RSS feeds, alot easier.
So which would you recommend? Reading the two I'm so confused, lol. So far I'm leaning towards Blog Automater, because it sounds like it will manipulate images and save them on your server, but are there reasons to go with one vs the other? Thanks alot

Blogs organizer is a full blown publishing platform (creates/publishes the blogs, manages the links, the RSS feeds, etc), while blogs automater is a script for organizing and publising RSS feeds on already installed and configured BO, Wordpress, thumblogger or whatever type blogs.
It depends on what your needs are really...

Neither of us have ever used wordpress and I'm a bit overwhelmed. I use a really old script called pm machine, that no one's even heard of, for my blog. Someday, I'd like it to be wordpress and have tagging ability. So would blog organizer help us build the blog on the domain, then easily pull and use posts from sponsor rss feeds, and can he edit the posts if he wants to write something different? Sorry for all the questions. ![]()

Blog Organizer is probably the tool your looking for. It will let you write posts as well as read in RSS Feeds and allow you to edit them. It's an advanced blogging script or can post to other scripts like WP. I have never tried using the blogging portion or BO although it looks fairly complete. I'm sold on WP. It's the type of thing if you can think of a function you'd really like to add to your blog you can usually do a little searching and find a plug-in that will add it. I'm not sure but I think T Pat has used BO as a blogging platform he may be more useful on how that functions. I can tell you that BO combined with WP is pretty cool |

Hey Girlfriend
I use both scripts, for one blog either script is kind of overkill I have 200+ blogs on BO my only complaint with BO is Kaktus still hasn't built tagging into the script, he's in his last semester of school so I'm sure he will get to it when he graduates. One of the things he added to BA on the last update (at my request) was the ability to store all images on your server. Wordpress is really just a 5 minute install let me know if you want to take a gander at the admins of BO and BA

What do you do, build your blog with BO, write your own posts in BO, then use the plug-in features for sponsor RSS with BA and use both of them on a blog? And I know it is overkill for one blog, lol. But I'd like to see him build a big network of them eventually. ![]()

BA is the only way to go if your going to build a network of splogs, it parses the sponsor feeds and then delivers them how and where you want. I'm using feeds from 90 affiliate sponsors that works out to 513 feeds going to 60 categories. I also setup a little different than most and am filtering my feeds by keyword and nich (just looked I have 613 keyword campaigns) so when I build a new blog I can feed it by Sponsor, nich or keyword feeds. This works well most of the time I do get the occasional feed entry going to the wrong blog ( click right hear often goes to my lick blog, pierced belly button goes to my butt blog etc.) For a Blogging platform you have two choices (in my never to be humble opinion) BO and Wordpress I like that I can monitor all of my BO blogs, link trades etc. from one admin, but wordpress also has a multiple blog platform I just don't know of anyone that's using it. Support for any of Kaktus's scripts is probable the best in the industry. What I like about wordpress is all the ready to use templates and plugins

Blogs Automater does have a Custom Feeds option that you might be able to use to write your own posts. Custom feeds are simulations of real feeds that let you manually insert entries (posts) into the script database. Once you write a post in BA it's in the database so it can be published automatically like any sponsor RSS feed post, but you can also use the Blog Now feature to select your handwritten post and publish it to the blog of your choice.

Well I bit the bullet and installed wordpress on http://gotpornforwomen.com/blog/. Then I downloaded my xml file from my blog I had at http://www.gotpornforwomen.com/eroti...ings/index.php and imported it. Unfortunately, they all went into uncatogorized, and it cut off every post over so many words, and some of the urls were formatted with the brackets (like a BB) vs the traditonal html coding. So I'm converting everything right now.
But after being afraid of wordpress, I'm suprised how easy it is. I found a theme I liked the layout, then just edited the stylesheet and graphics to look like I wanted. (although I'd rather have my old custom logo top, I'll figure that out later, lol). It is kinda broken right now, I"m going thorugh and adding tags, and adding the posts to the categories, and adding the rest of the posts when I'm done, but after that I'll tie it all in from my site. What do you think so far? I'm starting MadHatter on Wordpress too, then we figured we'd get BA to add in feeds. Both of us tend to write all our own blog posts, but I do want to pull in some sponsor stuff eventually, and build some splogs. Thanks for all your help. ![]()
