How to build a free site

Hi all,

As most of you already know, I have started my first site (http://www.picnclip.com) three weeks ago.
I want to promote it via banners and links in free sites which i need to build.
How do i build a free site ?
How can i get a content ? Can i use content of pay site like (real girlfriend) and to add a link to them ?

Here's a tutorial from 2004, but it should still be relevant with basic info. Unfortunately some of the links no longer work. I'm pretty sure this is the tutorial that got me started with freesites:

Check out each of your sponsors affiliate section.Most of them provide a pic and movie content section along with banners etc. to promote their sites.Or you can just download the content off the free hosted galleries they provide.

Dont forget if you use sponsor content you can only promote that sponsor. You can also buy content very cheap and promote whoever you like. I would be carefull downloading there fhg content unless they provide a full gallery download. I always read the tos just to make sure its ok to download there fhg content. If the tos is unclear i usally ask them if its ok.

picnclip,
since you are an absolute newbie someone should have stated that when you build your very first freesite to list an example here so others can make comments on mistakes you may have made. Sorry, I did not see this thread earlier.

I will start by saying you have a blind link recip in your table and it's mine, LOL. Not sure why you did that but I would reject it for that alone even if it goes to me. I have a feeling you did a copy/paste from someone elses table (papa) and changed a few things. Bad thing is that it is an older one with a dead link list in it plus a partner and paid only site that I do not believe you have. There are other errors that are minor and easily fixed but I will let others comment on those.

This is not a bitch slapping, I know you are new, but hopefully a helpful hint in the right direction for you and any other newbie reading this. Post your link and I am sure others will point you in the right direction. Once all the bugs are worked out feel free to resubmit it
