Who is the owner of Consumption Junction?

Well... this is interesting.

I read totalfark.com every day and today I found a link to the folks over at consumptionjunction.com

you can find the latest news entry here:

http://www.consumptionjunction.com/c...?id=598&page=1

Basically this article is about... hard to know if its true or not but... its about him being questioned by local authorities in relation to his websites. Basically Its got a chance of going into a custody hearing for his daughter.

Anyone know this person? is it true? If it is should we do something?

Just showing some concern for a fellow webmaster. I know if any of us were down like this the rest of GG and J's daily readers would be quick to help, so... if ya know this guy, at least write him a note and say hi and good luck.

He's not the owner, but he does write for them.

Believe me when I say, from experience, it does truly suck when the courts look at your ability to raise your kids based on your occupation.

I'm not sure, Rick Latona from Dollars.com could be the owner of CJ...

I find that "computer programmer" covers as an occupational description. It sounds boring and most people don't ask beyond that.

"Web designer" always prompts the question "What kind of sites do you design?"

"Adult webmaster" should be on a need to know basis IMO.

"Marketing" and "Customer service" cover a broad spectrum of occupations for us CamHoes.

this part kind of threw me off, though:

Quote:
George W. Bush is a still a lying whoremonger of a President, rampant pit bulls are still eating people, and people are still believing every word they read.

Even these words, written right here.
so who knows.

Marketing can mean so many things. It's an umbrella which can cover everything from market analysis, strategy, design & development, sales management, media relations, public relations, advertising, literature.....

Am I boring you now?

When people ask me what I do for a living I just tell them that I sell young children into slavery. They usually stop asking me questions after that and in fact stop talking to me altogether. I'm somewhat anti social at times.

Fitting remark Cleo - I'll try that next time.

I've found, so far, "PORNOGRAPHER!" with a big smile and hearty handshake to work well. By "work well," I mean "baffle."

and if they press again they're assholes so I just dont answer em.

Boogie - here is my own personal experience with this.

http://newbiewebmasters.com/showthre...nment+invasion

I too had this encouter. I do not know if I ever finished the thread but, in the end, the government had no position to take and had to dismiss their case.

Tomorrow, I go see my attorney. Many matters will be discussed including this one. Where we go from there with this is anyones guess. But, what I want is for them to destroy any information they gathered in relation to thier investigating me and my wife.

They had no business coming to my house what so ever. And as the thread on Newbies pans out, I advertised my business, I have children and someone complained. So that was their reasoning to invade my life and nothing more.

If you would like take a look at the thread.

And hopefully this webmaster in your article will be released from this tyranical type of behaviour also.

Nick

Wow... sorry to hear it - that sucks. Hope we see an update on this and that everything was OK. *crossing fingers*

re how I list my occupation: "Internet Consultant" has worked out just fine. In fact, it's gotten me some local "fun money" jobs for area businesses, co-sponsored my daughter's softball team one year and been something *positive* to discuss when people ask, "so.... what do you do?"
