Question Flash videos on freesite galleries

I'm not talking about the sponsor hosted stuff, but flvs hosted on my domain using sponsor content. I've been playing with JW Media player

http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=JW_FLV_Player

and using a high bitrate for conversion (768-1024) I've good some nice looking results. I think the galleries have a nice modern look, certainly better looking than the linked vid caps I have been using. The skins are awesome, too.

Do any list owners have problems with this? One thing I can't decide is whether to link the video (surfer clicks on video and is taken to sponsor-most sponsor hosted flvs do this) or put a link and/or banner below the clip.

Any thoughts/caveats before I get too carried away?

JW has an wmv player also, but requires the user to install MS Silverlight....doesn't seem like a good option to me.

I've been using the JW Media player inside of member's areas and reaction has been very positive. The vids are actually in H.264 format and now member's no longer need to install QuickTime to view them although we are still giving a link in case they want to use QuickTime.

I would stay away from MS Silverlight as not a lot of people have it installed and it isn't even made for older computers like ones using PowerPC chips.

I have no opinion on using a Flash player on free sites as my LL doesn't allow it at this time.

Thanks Cleo...I tried a lower bitrate and it looked fine until viewed in full screen mode. Would be nice to go lower, but I want to keep the quality as high as possible (I think... )

btw, here's what I'm working on:

I'll spit this into 2 galleries formy fs.

Looks good to me, full screen is fine on my 30" screen, especially for a free sample.

This is the very first test movie that I did using the JW player.

This is the actually h.264 movie that it is playing
