I wonder what's happening with 1freepornfinder?
A sudden big change to the site - now he wants us to go the the category page and submit there?
Looks like the software running the site has been changed. Hmmmm. Curious. Damn it's hard to read half the stuff on the 'suggest listing' page, some strange yellow background to half the text in my browser. |

I heard all sites running one of the more popular tgp scripts were penalized by google. Maybe he was running that script and changed to one that isnt being penalized.

the site has been then same since 1999.... it was time for a change.. sorry about having to go to the category first to submit... if it's easier.. just save the submit page from any category... then when you submit, click on "change" next to the category then click on the folder next to root.. that will give you a list of all categories so you can choose one. |

Bill, I wish you would turn acceptance or rejection letters back on - it's a different environment now than when you turned them off.
Nowadays, as traffic flows slow from the midsize linklists, factors like easily being able to tell when a linklist has accepted a site influence submitter affiliance. Not to mention the constant doubt about wether a linklist will disappear, or has been abandoned by its owner. Knowing that a linklist is still alive and accepting promptly is a big factor now in submitter loyalty. |

The reason I turned the emails off is that years ago I had someone think it was funny to submit a fake site (or it may have been a real site) with their bosses or friends email...the guy got a rejection or acceptance email email and flipped out.. our hosting company at the time almost shut us down for spam.. ... We want to approve as many sites as possible... if you follow the rules (we have even been bending a little about the hardcore on the warning page) you will get listed...

I would have guessed it was running gossamer threads, but could be mistaken. I'm not sure what the new script is. Last edited by Bill; 2009-07-10 at 10:56 PM.. |

I appreciate your reasons for not doing response emails, but, with the right host such things wouldn't be an issue. And, what I was saying about submitter loyalty is still a force to be considered. I've subbed to you for many years, but I know that I've taken you out of recip tables because of the combined factors effect - I don't know for sure wether showing an asshole on a banner will trigger your hardcore rule, AND I know I won't be told if you reject it. The linklists that do review reasonably promptly, and whose emails I get, even when they are rejections, I always keep in my recip tables - they earn my loyalty. Anyway, I've been meaning to suggest it to you when I had the chance, and now I have, so I figure my obligation to give you a bit of feedback is fulfilled. |

Does anyone honestly believe they've banned sites solely because they're using Smart Thumbs?
IMO if any site has been banned / savagely downgrading on goog it is because they're running a CJ and goog has learned how to spot this, or they're sharing a DB among several sites and goog has spotted the dupe content, or they've got very little actual text on their pages and were relying on alt and title to insert "words" and goog no longer likes this... If goog really is using the script employed to judge sites then that is an unfortunate development...

Thats just what I read on 2 other boards. And I wouldnt put it past google. The reason may be the one you mentioned, cj sites, buth they may have come to the conclusion the most sites running a script are CJs, therefore they would penalize any site running that script.

Hiya ... I was going to put you on my submit list but I'm confused by the rule which says "No BDSM sites" since there are sites listed in the Fetish and Dominatrix categories at 1freepornfinder which can easily be called BDSM sites. I even see ads on those pages for BDSM sponsors (free mags ads).
And I'd vote yes to confirmation emails. Some scripts allow the submitters to choose if they want confirmation emails. If you use submitter accounts you won't have much to worry about regarding someone submitting a site with someone else's email address since all email addresses will have been confirmed when they signed up for the account. Just my 2 cents, which is worth a little less than 1 cent now.

we are easing up on that a little... we're just trying to stay away from the really really hardcore BDSM stuff... sorry to be a little ambiguous .. but if you post a link here or pm me and give me some examples I'll try to clarify it for you.. .. and thanks for the vote.. |
