Just wondering how much you are paying for "gas" these days in the USA?

If 1 US gallon = 3.785 litres @ 75.9 UK pence per litre then we are paying £2.872 GBP per US gallon - and with $1 being worth 0.592417 UK, that means that in the UK we pay $4.84 per US gallon.

I was in Nebraska in '98 and it was only $1 a gallon..... that's quite a price hike.

I use diesel at 1.68/gallon but our gas prices are about 1.70/gallon. Didn't you know we have brand new oil fields in iraq

It costs about $50 to fill up my truck and about $35 to fill my wifes SUV.

I think we're between $1.75 - $1.95 these days - but there is a law goinginto effect shortly that there must be new additives added to all the fules so that the burn cleaner (damn tree huggers) One of the options (the cheaper of the 2) is a banned substance in New York State so fule companies are forced to use the other additive, which will add as much as $0.30/gallon to the price.

We have 4 vehicles totaling 32 cylinders - we eat gas for breakfast

About $1.65 USD here.. when i lived in Naples, IT, we paid about 3.80-4.00USD per gallon, or about 12.00 per litre. we train'd it alot over there.. why my husband thought we needed a car is still beyond me..

Edited: Note: Milk is $4.00 per gallon and bottled water about $5.00..guess we need to go to war in Nebraska and Colorado to get those prices down..

My car takes the most expensive gas, its been running around 1.85 a gallon if I remember, don't usually look, just fill up.

Go with diesel...no emissions tests, no special additives, that is until winter hits. Then they add something to thin it a bit. Except for a few years ago, diesel prices have not gone up over $1.70/gallon. And, you get better millage. I get about 14 miles to a gallon with a truck that weighs over 12,000 pounds, empty.

The best thing about it is in the winter though...
I have a plug when plugged in, I start my truck and have instant heat. I could turn on the heat and blower without the motor running and I have heat. And the pulling power is incredible. I could pull my house off the foundation if I felt the need. Needless to say, I will never have another vehicle without a diesel engine.

Hint -
Fill up on a Wednesday or Thursday AM -
Weekend prices are normally 10% higher. And get the Ethanol version if it's the same price. (should be 2 points higher in octane - you're mileage should improve)
I went to HS with a guy that now runs an ethanol plant.

I wish every car and truck were diesels. Once they are warmed up, the efficiencies gained are huge. (starting them up - well that's another matter - try starting an older tractor some time)

When I bought gas today I actually looked at the price because of this thread. I paid 1.979 for premium which is the most that I think that I have ever paid.

Which brings up another point… Why the fuck is gas priced in 9/10 of a cent, always wondered about that.

Hmmm diesel fuel, somehow I don't think a Corvette with a diesel engine would be a very good seller. LOL

I had a boyfriend that had a diesel powered Cadillac and I was always trying to get out of everyone's way when I drove it.
