In what I call censorship to the extreme, the Chinese government is taking great lengths to keep porn away from Chinese cyberspace. They have announced that they will pay Chinese surfers 10,000 yuan (about $1,500) when they find a porn site in their Internet.

In a desperate attempt to keep their image squeaky clean (yeah, right), I think this is one half-assed way to alienate legitimate Western businesses who have ties with porn. But then again, I suppose these businesses will be too blinded by the money that they are willing to turn a blind eye on this slight.

How very Cultural Revolution of them. The only thing missing now is Mao Tse Tung.

Personally I don't want Chinese traffic sucking up my bandwidth so the more repressed they are the better for me.

That makes two of us...if I had a dollar for every Chinese based click, I could retire very nicely right now and burn hundred dollar bills for the hell of it.

I've always felt that way about China... there are some countries I really want to target better and improve, but there are more than a handful that I'd just rather BLOCK whenever possible.
