ok, I cant login

somehow someone changed my password for Jakes Links.
I am using X-Power Links II and I am wondering if anyone knows by any chance where the password can be found?

I don't know that script but my wild guess would be database or some config file like config.php or database.php

I don't know the script either, but one thing to be aware of if the password is stored in a database: many scripts don't store the literal password, they store a hash of the password.

In years past I've seen MD5 used quite often for passwords, I don't know what's hot now.

You can get an MD5 hash of a desired password with PHP like so:

(Note: I haven't tested the above code.)

I have found a password in the database, its xpl_users and changed the password, but its still not working. I am still trying

Ask your host to bring db back from previous dates before that block happened and make sure you made a copy of actual db. You can compare them later. Also make sure that table xpl_users it's for admin and not for site users, if that's the case maybe look for something like xpl_admin, xpl_auth ... etc
To bad that this script is not supported anymore.
