Mouseovers (not blind) = better click thru rate ?

I seem to notice click thru rate about 300% + higher when using mouseovers on sponsor links (making it look like the link just goes to the root domain). Especially with those which look obvious - such as ccbill affiliate codes/urls.

Does anyone else see this?

Also when a sponsor uses affiliates codes in the form of:

http://rootdomainname.com/myaffiliatecode/

The difference is drastic.

Why do more sponsors not make use of this?
