Post Birmingham

I'm not Australian

Not that being Australian is bad, not at all, I just get mistaken on boards for being an Aussie and this is my chance to put this right.

I'm from Birmingham in England, UK.

JRR Tolkien (Lord of the Rings)
UB40
Judas Priest
Ruby Turner
Ozzy Osbourne
Musical Youth

Neville Chamberlain
Jasper Carrott (comedian)

Birmingham? Isn't that in Alabama? I kid, I kid..

B B B B B B B Birmingham. Pow!

Now I'm going to have that fucking song stuck in my head all day. I watched it loop about 5 times waiting for it to come to an end before I realized that it would NEVER stop.

Gotta love the "Birmingham: It's not shit" campaign.

It's the UK's second largest city and is quite industrial. But they're right, it's not shit.

Wow, that is quite a line-up of famous people from just one city.

I had the priviledge of seeing the Moody Blues out at the Casino last year. Outstanding! Absolutely fantastic.

The Electric Light Orchestra is coming this year, I'm pretty sure. I'll have to go and see them too.

But wait ... aren't all Australians just transplanted British criminals??

Ahem.. criminals.. maybe, the people that gave the poncey ariticrocrat class the most grief definitely!

They sent their best and brightest down here and created the Australian super-race you all know and love today ;-))

Ya know, the more people I "meet" people from around the world on these boards, the less I like being American, not that this a particularly good time to be an American anyway (I think you know what I mean). Right now, I would love to move away to another country and enjoy a slightly different mindset and lifestyle. My wife says that no one else will take me. I told her I'm going to pack up our shit and go to Canada, which is only three ours north. For some reason, she thinks all of Canada is frozen wasteland. Yeah, she's pretty fucked sometimes.

You've got a great country, dude, just a bunch of wankers running it. After finishing college - few years back - I spent 4 months touring on Greyhound. I got in a couple of scrapes (mugged in memphis) but on the whole I met some fantastic people. In 28 years it was, on the whole, the best experience of my life : making new friends and seeing the HUGE variety of your country. I'd been to the US on loads of holidays, but that was the first time I departed the tourist track. I'm planning on taking the family over there next year. April has never been and I can't wait to introduce her to a few things.
