Wednesday December 27th - Holiday Meltdown

The holiday here was a disaster. This year, we decided to try a family holiday now that The Husband has mended fences with his brother. We get along fine with the brother, fianceé and stepson. We do NOT get along with the brother's children from his first wife. Originally, it was to be us, The Husband's parents, and the brother's current family. Then it turns out at the last minute, they invited the two rude kids to join in. We had planned on cooking for 7 -- now it was 11. And that also meant 11 people in a small apartment with no seating for that many, anywhere. Needless to say, The Husband was very uncomfortable, and the day did not go well. I was just getting over a cold so I did not go. We will NOT be doing that again, trust me. We do have to see them all again when the brother gets married in 2 weeks. Sigh..

We have barely been sleeping since last Thursday with all the running around and cooking. It's been a series of naps, but little more. It caught up with me on Monday. I kept thinking it was Sunday and never did get the day right. Means I didn't get my galleries done or much of anything else. I just chalk it up to the Holiday Meltdown on top of post-COVID stress, and try to pick up the pieces. We can do this.
