We're all rich webmasters right, clear cash flow, money in the bank, credit up the wazoo... well, more important than your vote in this election is your money.

So, donate a few hundred to your candidate. This is an important election.

I've been dropping a hundred a month since the spring on mine. Politics in america is all about the money, so put your money where your mouth is! Just drop it on your credit card, pay it back later if your cash flow is slow.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled chit-chat.

Seriously people, politics is all money now, so contribute!

I just gave another $200 to my candidate, because this is a critical time. Contribute a signup before June 30th, that's a critical date for political finance. Then contribute even more in august, to support the final media war.

Unless you are living in one of a very few swing districts, because of the electoral college, your money is more important than your vote!

If you don't give money, you are just another foolish american sucker.

I did donate $190 to the Democratic party earlier this year, only because they say they look into companies & individuals that donate over $200.

Bill do you know if that's $200 a donation or $200 a calander year or something like that?

Well, as I understand it, companies and corporations fall under a special set of rules- so that, for instance, you have to use a personal credit card and check off an agreement that you are making a personal contribution on a personal credit card when you donate online.

And, if you donate over a hundred, (whoops, that's two hundred- maybe this is the two hundred figure you were referring to GG?) you have to identify your employment and the type of work you do. I just enter "self-employed" and "webmaster".

And I make sure to use one of the credit cards that I never use for business expenses when I donate. And, you can't use a corporate credit card at all for the easiest kind of online donation.

Other than that, an individual can contribute up to $2000, up from $1000 becuase of some of the recent changes in campaign finance law.

I'm going to look into the regulations a bit later on today, and check, but the last I checked, I don't remember anything saying individuals get looked at, other than the things I mentioned above. But I'll find out.

Don't forget to donate to your local polticians too as they can more adversely affect you locally. There are also a lot of good candidates on the local level that don't have the budget for a huge campaign, so find one of these guys and get behind them. Rally some support on a local level. If you're not effective in affecting local politics then you'll be even harder pressed to make a difference nationally.

I donated $100 earlier this year and I'll donate more to any candiate that doesn't want to spend $165,000,000,000 killing American soldiers just to improve his chances of winning the next election.

I'm not sure supporting my locals will do a lot of good. I just moved to the conservative south where simple phrases like "my daddy told me right is right" is about the extent of free thinking (I've heard that phrase plenty of times in the month I've been here). I'm sure in some counties around here that even asking for a democratic ballet is a hanging offense.

The wife and I went out to see Fahrenheit 9/11 today.

That's a hell of a movie.

I thought the greiving mother segment at the end was overplayed, but I'm a facts-oriented kind of guy, maybe for average americans the emotional boo-hoo for the mom trip is more compelling. They're an emotional lot, those straight-life americans.

A fuckin funny movie.

I'll have to look into the local politics thing. I can think of a few senators that need to be kicked out, at least. I guess thats not so local. ;-}
