I appreciate your taking the time to respond, but it sounds to me like what you are offering me is "Web" terms, when we specifically say this is not for use on the net.

Or did I mis-understand?
(I could be over-reacting negatively, as I seem to constantly be answering people that think only in "SELL ON A WEBSITE" terms.)

Bearing in mind, we have no interest...I mean NONE in having exclusive content. (I know that's prime for other types of distribtion, but for us it has no value in the transaction)

Ideally, I would like about an hour's worth of content, in about 4 segments. They don't have to be related.

The first link is some kind of dumb ass circle jerk "free content" site, and the second one has nice flashy graphics, but they seemed to have forgotten to get the content, so, they have NOTHING to sell me.

Eric, I'm wondering if you have read your site. The page you are referring to as the requirement page discusses very vaquely of what you want and nothing of what you intend on doing with it. My suggestion is to take a step back, read your site, update it with some specifications, read your posts, and ask yourself if you really need to be such a dick to those who are offering to do business with you.

We do clearly state what we are going to do with the content.
The only thing we don't state on the page(s), is how much we pay for the content. And while this is generally within a narrow range, it is in excess of ANY amount you will receive ANYWHERE else for this use. (we do say that.) We don't quote rates because we respect our client's privacy. And we would like to see what we are buying, before we buy it.

Now, of course you may be right, it may be confusing to some, but you are the first person yet that didn't "Get" it. Perhaps you could give me a specific portion you didn't understand?

Our "specifications," again, as it states on the page, are very broad. we are looking for all kinds of content and experiences.
In this forum, I specified Gay content as the focus. What kind? ALL KINDS.

But when I ask specifically for video, and people send me link trade program pages, or pages about picture "specials" I get a bit annoyed, as it wastes my time to filter through it.

No, did you have something you would like to do business with, or did you just want to be a "cool dude," telling everyone else who does, and does not meet your standard for "dick?"

Try and keep in mind that you began the negative tone of this thread with your reply to the first post you received.

Because of my interest in most aspects of this business, especially anything new, I went to your site to see what it is you're pitching. (Interesting toy by the way. And I mean that in a positive sense, not sarcasticly) Also, because I was a bit surprised at your tone, or at least what I perceived your tone to be by your choice of words, I tried to see what it is that the content sellers are seeing. After reading your 'specifications' page, I realized that it is truly vague. Which may be why not many have spammed you, and why you are not pleased with those whom have.

Aside from that piggydollars link (I don't know what the hell that is), it is my OPINION that your responses to the posts here have been a little off-base. We're all here to make a buck. Those who have responded here did not do so to waste your time, aside from myself of course. Perhaps your posts could have a less advesarial tone to them. This isn't GFY, after all. It is fine to be impolite with me though. I did call you a dick, after all.

I wish you luck with your search and your venture. (I do think it is a cool machine and a very innovative idea)

I sincerely appreciate the compliments on the technology. And you are probably right, I am getting quite "short" and to the point on these things. I've been through about a hundred "polite" replies, sometimes twice from the same person......

What tends to twist my top is when I specifically say:

"Please don't send me info on content being resold for use on websites only. We aren't interested."

And then, I get back 10 links that say "we have great content for sale at ----porn---.com." I go look, and the only thing they have is web rights for other people's stuff. They didn't create it, they can't license it, and they are only selling it "for use on XX number of websites"

So I've invested 20 minutes of my time to talk to a guy who can't read. I'm beginning to get fatigued with boards in general, as I'm finding mostly this on the boards. (Not just this board, but most of them)

In fact, even after our exchange, I got ANOTHER person selling ONLY web usage rights that would "send me the license info AFTER I Bought it."

I'm a no bullshit guy, that pays top dollar for what we buy. And I just don't have time to waste.

I am, hoverer, keenly aware that what looks plain to me in writing, may not be as clear to others who have no idea what I'm talking about before they read our site. And, as you say, it is a new (relatively) and very different thing. So it's certainly possible that I'm Not being as clear as I would like, which is why your reply got my attention. I don't get too hung up on being called names, so that's not a big deal. I'm more interested in A: Do you NOW understand what we are talking about, if not, what is still unclear, and HOW could it be more clear to others?

as opposed to licensing the content for your own use.. I think this is where the confusion comes in, just trying to help Eric..

You know, a nicer attitude and a more straightforward type request would probably get you much better results, just my two cents

The page I referenced describes, in detail what we do. Also, a look at the page where our other girls are makes it pretty clear if that doesn't get it done for the reader. (Which is why I put the link to the page in the original post.)

Sorry, we don't do "straight forward" We have our own thing that no one else is doing. So it's impossible to make a "straight forward type request?" (Our thing is so different than conventional revenue channels that it requires a description. It can't be boiled down to a few words....)

I'll be honest, I don't ever message someone unless I think they want what I have to offer.. I didn't understand what you were looking for exactly.. and don't tell me to go read that page again, I read it 3 times.. and I still don't quite understand what the terms are in regards to the person selling the content to you.

If you can't bring yourself to even explain it in a post, how are you ever going to get people to do business with you just from reading that page?

Just saying, "What does it take on your part? Nothing but the desire to make more money, and All we ask of you is the exclusive rights to use for Virtual Reality of your content" sounds like something you pitch to a surfer for god's sake.. I mean, who do you think you're talking to anyway?

Now, you may have a very conventional idea here, but I'll be damned if I know what it is! Sorry, but if you want to pitch an idea, yes, you need to be nicer and more patient, and spell it out instead of using hype .. hype doesn't sell to providers, facts do

They seemed to understand it.
But you are the second person to be confused, so another look at it may be in order.


As for "Hype," what can I say? I've spent my life in sales.....

I'm always selling.

But I'll discuss the confusion issues you folks raised for updating.

and you know Eric, I've spent my whole life in sales too, and one thing I've learned in my 30+ years doing this is that people need to be lead by the hand and patience is really important. I'm a mom, so it comes kind of naturally to me.

Not everyone is as smart as you are, and if you're really smart, you'll realise that.

Oh, I don't know if it's "as smart as me," as much as it's exposure to the information.
It's funny, but you would think writing a user manual, or explaining how a program works would be an easy thing. But the worse people in the world to write a user manual/program description are the people that are presenting it. They have "inside knowledge" of it, and assume things are apparent and obvious, which, of course, they are to the creators. Unfortunately, to the incoming person never exposed to the item, it's all Greek.
Add to that, it's something new, and never done before, and you have a recipe for confusion.

So, I assure you, I have heard you "mom." :-)
