Help - I need an IRC client reccomendation

I went to log into "On the Bench" and Firefox was missing something and said it couldn't find the plug-in. So I downloaded Xfire and it wouldn't work (gamer crap)! So I downloaded Gaim & for the life of me I can't keep it running. It wants to say I'm away or I keep closing the windows by accident. I'm a spaz, but I'd like to participate! Anyone know of a client for WinXP that doesn't need an MBA to run. I had my coffee and questions ready. Sorry MML for blinking out.

Off-topic but, will I get banned or anything while I try to get this signature thing to work, if it goes wacko on me? I know the rules and what I want to do, just being carefull. Thanks
