Any input on this free site would greatly be appreciated

This was my first attempt at building a freesite. I thought I did it right, but I must have been way off because I barely got listed anywhere
I kept it clean and didn't use free content thinking I would have an advantage over other sites.
http://www.localfoxes.net/chubbygirlfriend/freesites/

I tried submitting to other sites but every LL wants to be on the index.html page which is impossible. The rejections I did receive were because the page was index14.html for example.
Was it the niche? Or the design? Or do I have to keep trying to get recognized by LL owners?

You kept it clean, perhaps too clean. Only one link on each page?? Most lists allow 3 links, use them to your advantage. With next to no advertising and decent content this may look like a re-direct waiting to happen.

To have the recips all on an index page, mirror the site into multiple folders, each with a set of recips.

Like this:

www.site.com/chubby/01/index.html
www.site.com/chubby/02/index.html
www.site.com/chubby/03/index.html
etc...

The full size pictures I looked at were all over 90k. Get them way down, under 35k if you can. Alot of places won't list you if the pics are too big since many surfers are still on dialup.

The exit link in the disclaimer which says 'here' may be a problem also, it isn't as clear as it should be for some and may be seen as a blind link. Think about placing it down under the Enter link instead.

Just make a separate folder for each mirrored site, that way everyone gets a "real" index page.

Looks fine to me except the gallery pages look like they're supplied by the sponsor. If you made 'em yourself, nice galleries

Well... at start... most LL wont accept sites named as sponsor
As Halfdeck mentioned its also not good to use premade galleries
You say its not free content but.. well.. i dunno - it looks like it was - I must say it's quality content for sure and must had been expensive, so I think noone who paid for it wouldn't waste 2 sets for 1 free site
You may put more than 9 recips on each page to reduce quantity of doorway pages (use previous advices to avoid index14.hml files as they dont get listed anywhere anymore)

Thanks for the welcome and the input! They weren't sponsored hosted galleries -I paid a gallery designer to do them and the content sets were $35 each. It wasn't a waste though, I normally submit galleries and have for 3 years now and thought I would try doing freesites for a change since I already had the galleries.
But I think from what everyone said I am going to make new gallery designs specifically for free sites with more advertising, create the sites in mirrored folders, reduce my image sizes, move the exit link, and name my site something different than my sponsor.
Thanks for the very specific input (I was half expecting people to say your site sucks....go away) I am going to give it another try!

Hi SamIam

Your stuff is always nice. A few tweaks and you should be set to go.

Definitely get a couple of ads on the index, it's a highly clicked page.. I'd move an ad to the tops of the pages, with the site name below the ad.

Try to use tracking codes (if available) on each ad and see which ad spot gets most clicks. I wouldnt be surprised if top of index page got the most.
At any rate, it can help with choosing spots to place ads where free sites are concerned.

Whenever I've re-used galleries, I usually wind up just re-using 10 of the pics and thumbs and maybe the part of the html that lays them out. The rest I'd edit to make it flow with the colors and page elements of the index and main. Should be no problems once they flow together.

Your index pages and inside pages need to look more like your gallery pages. Basically, duplicate off the color schemes and such. Your galleries have a blue background, example, so your other pages should have a similar background.

Also, when you move to your galleries, you are moving folders (moving from freesites to freesites/gallery1, which will get you declined in some places. All of your HTML should be in the same folder.

Hope that helps

Alex
