I play Xbox every now and then, usually I play long and hard for a week or so and then go 4-6 months with out playing it. I use Gamefly or Blockbuster to rent more then I buy since I can usually beat a game in a few days and then get bored with it, so if I do it pretty fast I am saving money.

I tried to rent GTA:SA when it first came out on Xbox from gamefly and even though it said they had it available they sent me a different game, so when Toni took off for Indiana I decided to go to Blockbuster and see if they had a copy and I lucked out and got the very last copy they had out.

Then Rockstar admitted it was them who installed the “sex scenes” and not some hacker that has Hillary and so many parents up in arms and forced the “adults only” rating on the game so everyone took it off the shelves and I’m sure made the cost on Ebay sky rocket.

This game is huge, as in size of the game, I have been playing long and hard on it for over a week and I think I am only 30% done and I still have not unlocked the 3rd area of the game. So I decided to keep it and let Blockbuster charge me $38 for the cost. I just called Blockbuster to ask how they do this and was told as soon as I am charged I will be able to get the manual and cover to the game. The guy told me “Smooth move, as soon as it was turned in, they have to destroy it” since they can no long rent it.

Now I would not want my 9 year old nephew to play this game, but the hidden sex scenes (which I still have not bothered unlocking) is the least of my worries. This game is set in a street gang environment, a gangsta street gang and all the racial and cuss words are used and used often, Fuck, Fag, Cocksucker, Nigger, Wetback, Shit, and every other racial and cuss word you can think of is used, not counting the game itself which is ultra violent.

But yet… all they are worried that their kids are seeing is SEX????

As for the game itself, I give it a 5 star rating out of 5 stars, it’s really detailed and has so much to do and see as I said, I’ve played for a long time and still have not seen half of what it offers, defiantly the best of the series.

It already had a mature 17 year old plus+ rating before the adult only rating so I had no idea what the problem was in the first place.

well besides lazy parents asking the government what their kids should and shouldn't watch, play etc..

It is a kick ass game though, I already took some time off of it but now I'll have to go home and play it all night to see where I am comparitevly to you...... thanks a lot! :-)

I think you may be right that it is for PC only, but I have not looked into it as yet, the news however, is saying it's in all formats; I just have not bothered to get XBox live yet since I have only had the Xbox for 4 years.... but I have geard there are downloads to Xbox, so who knows… I mean really, it would take far too much of my time to google it.

That was my exact complaint upon hearing the talking heads report repeatedly on the sexual content. They don`t seem to give a shit about all other content within.

I play a bit of Halo online but that`s about all I have time for these days.

I haven't played an online game since the last time I played Counterstrike Source. I had forgot which key planted the bomb and spent a minute and a half smashing keys on the keyboard looking for it. People were yelling 'you stupid fucking retard! plant the fucking bomb!!! fuck!!!' through their headsets.

It was embarassing. Don't let your children play Counterstrike Source.

well i bought it for my son when it 1st came out.. he's 14.. and truthfully i've sat for hours watching him play.. and nothing on there is any different that what goes on in real life. His favorite part btw is 'blinging' his character out.. or going to the tatoo parlor.

Agreed that at age 9 or 10 there is still a thought process developing and hopefully kids in elementary are still kinder and gentler.. but even though he went to a magnet jr. high for gifted children.. i was amazed at what he learned there.

so my parental view is, keep an open dialog..if he doesn't understand something, he can come ask me. He also plays CivII & III and Ceasar III so at least i know he's getting a rounded view of life.

as far as hillary and the sex scenes.. she probably caught bill up late watching them..

The video game "journalists" eventually learned it can be unlocked on the PS2 and I believe the XBOX version as well with one of those cheat devices (like the GameShark or GameGenie).

What gets me is how long it took these 'journalists' to actually try out the "hot coffee" mod. For weeks I was reading about this "alleged trick"...and no one but fans were actually trying it out.

Then Rockstar games came out and said "we didnt put it there".

Yeah, you did. I'm surprised they lied about it. It was in the game, just inaccessible without moving some code around. Don't ask me how they thought they could kick dirt over this and hope that people would just forget about it.

The ESRB (ratings people) were baffled. They have been taking the heat from the politicans because (its obvious now without saying) Rockstar didnt disclose the fact that this was built into the game, just hidden away. I almost feel sorry for the ESRB.

It's not even a big deal. The problem is that some people have lied and others have been using it as fodder for their ignorant views and agendas.

If you got this game for your kid who was under 17 you violated the M for Mature rating anyways, i have no fucking pity for you.

If your kid was 17 and you got it for him then you’ve got a case here, I suppose. IF your kid is 17 and doesnt know about sex or what can be seen in that video though I feel for both you and him.
