For most of the rest of the White House staff, evangelical leaders were people to be tolerated, not people who were truly welcomed. No group was more eye-rolling about Christians than the political affairs shop. They knew "the nuts" were politically invaluable, but that was the extent of their usefulness.

I saw the first few minutes of an Interview with him on CBS Sunday evening as I was walking past the TV. He did not have kind words to say about President Bush and his "advisors".

At least some of the religious right is beginning to see the true light, they are simply being used as a means to an end.
