Question Tracking clicks with a perl script?

I am curious about a perl script that I wrote that tracks referrers and clicks. It is implemented by appending the desired URL to the URL of the script (example is below). Would this be valid in free sites, considering the resulting URL is still displayed directly?

example:
http://btuz.com/cgi-bin/out.pl?http:...nguysboard.com
