As subject states...how many active free sites do you have on the 'net working for you?
On average, how many free sites do you make per month? I have 8 now.  |

I was making 5-7 a week, but I've been slacking as of late.

I only make about four a month these days but at one time I turned out as many as one a day for months at a time. I've been doing this since about 98 so I've long ago forgotten how many I have and even where they are. I have domains that I don't really remember what is on them.

My goal is to submit 5 per week every week.
As I've gotten more effiicient, I can build one in about 1.5 hrs. I'm gonna start building several per day to have a backlog of sites I can just submit during days off. I've made $245 in 3 weeks which isn't a lot, but it seems when I sort by uniques each site makes a sale after it gets a fair number of uniques. Especially now that it's just taking 1-1.5hrs per effective site- I'm very encouraged. Just hope it's not beginners luck or anything. How does revenue scale with volume of sites made? Meaning, if I made that amount with 8 sites if I had 80 is it realistic to think 10x the sales? Or is it more exponential? It was neat to see the sale I got tonight was from the 2nd site I made 2 weeks ago. I feel like I literally did no work for that sale.  I also expect to get more efficient within the next month or so as I'll have historical data to see what sites may sell better and mimic those sites techniques . I had my doubts about doing this full time or even commiting a lot of energy to it- but...I'm a bit more encouraged now. I like how there are 3 waves of traffic- 1) The LL's that list straight away. 2) The LL's that take a while to list like PB/WP 3) The search engines pick up the sites I must admit I haven't done all I can do to maximize each sites traffic. I have just 1 recip table and no mirror sites yet.  18 LL's listings per site. Well, 17 since it takes RR's a month to catch up- IF he even lists them which I have my doubts. Now that I'm more efficient, I can take the time to look into mirror sites and submitting to more lists... I'm hopin' 3 months from now the checks will actually be of decent size. The benchmark is that the income from free sites would cover rent. That would be a nice place to reach and feel really cool! Last edited by Alphawolf; 2004-09-13 at 11:33 PM.. |

It is exponential. |

Well, as you asked, my list shows 168.
Free sites are nice because first you get listed with some LLs, others list you later and when months go you get traffic from SEs. You get sign-ups from sites you have built months or years ago and totally forgot. I still even have some free sites in free hostings I built before September 1999 when I hired space from Strictly Hosting. It's amazing to have a check from sponsor I haven't promoted from almost 5 years. 80 sites won't give you 10x more sales. Selling is harder these days. But, keep building and submitting, sign-ups will come.

You have the right thought-processes, Alphawolf. I always like seeing webmasters who admit they don't know it all and are big enough to ask questions.
My advice would be to submit daily to 30 to 50 (there are, unfortunately, few others worth a submission). Try and get partner accounts now. GG&J is populated by link list owners who know and probably already trust you. Try for 2 sites per day, using different niches and sponsors. You then have your galleries for tgp (which, despite what they say, can pay an awesome amount if worked right). If you haven't already, get yourself a load of tgp partner accounts. Spend a few hundred dollars and pay for some passes too. Do this quick enough and you have more time to post on gg&j |

Seriously though, I guess I have not made enough to really know for sure but, about half have mirrors and the other half don't, the ones without have had more sign ups if thats any help to you. I dont know what is better, spending the time that you would need to make mirrors and submitting them, or making a new site instead with that time. Anyone have some idea on that? |

You're doing great, Alphawolf! I bet if you'd made 8 TGP galleries you wouldn't have made $280 in 3 weeks & you'd have a much bigger bandwidth bill.
